What is the goal of the tapered bushing? Tapered bushings are typically employed to mount pulleys, sprockets and pulleys on shafts. They are break up, have no flange bushings, use screws to maintain the shaft, and give good clamping power. Tapered bushings are often used for recessed ceiling lights because they have an even mounting spacing and, if mounted correctly, they are very powerful in large torque apps.
